IASI | Ionel Botezatu, 62, a radiologist at the “St. Spiridon” Hospital was found unconcious by his colleagues on Saturday evening, on a bed in the Emergency Room of the medical center, after his absence was recognised by the other doctors that started looking after him.
He was after discovered in a bed in the hospital’s radiology ER where he worked for years. His colleagues started CPR, but after over an hour one of them called him dead. The doctors said he must of felt ill and rested on the bed for a second, but probably fainted while lying down. Also the radiologist was known for having cardiaovascular disease.
Radiologist Ionel Botezatu was famous around the country for being one of the best in the field. His carrer started just as he graduated from the University of Medicine in Iasi, as he was hired at the “St. Spiridon” Hospital right away. The medical community of Romania is still in shock after this tragic event.
