Family doctors boycotting electronic prescription if not mandatory in outpatient and hospital care

BUCHAREST | Family doctors will boycott the implementation of the electronic prescription if the prescription is not mandatory for professionals in outpatient and hospital doctors, Family Physicians Employers Federation president Doina Mihaila said on Monday.

“We will boycott the introduction of the electronic prescription if they do not have all doctors to utiliezeze this new system, those in hospitals and the ambulatory. They give the patients the reference tickets and we are obliged to write the prescriptions. That’s not fair”, Dr. Doina Mihaila said. She also stated that family doctors are against other changes in the draft amendment of the framework agreement, which, during the holidays, they can leave the list of patients to a colleague.

“I think it would not be fair to leave my list to a colleague. There is a risk of losing patients on the list,” said Mihaila. Family doctors are supporting the new electronic prescribing system, but they requested solutioning at the Integrated Information System (SIUI), which creates them all sorts of issues monthly.
