BUCHAREST | Adrian Nastase was sentenced on Wednesday by the HCCJ to two years imprisonment in the “QualityTrophy” case, in which he is charged in connection with fundraising for the 2004 campaign when he ran for Presidency from the PSD . The panel of five judges of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (HCCJ) partially upheld appeals made by Adrian Nastase and other defendants in the case.
Thus, the court overturned the sentence in January in which Adrian Nastase was sentenced to two years imprisonment and, in the rejudging, changed the legal classification of the offense he was charged upon. For the new offense in the case of Nastase, the judges have ruled that the former prime minister will also be condemned to two years imprisonment. The decision is final and the decision is up to be enforced.
