EURO 2012: Rome celebrates as ITALY beats Germany 2-1 and qualifies for the final in Kiev

WARSAW | Representative of Italy defeated on Thursday in Warsaw, score 2-1 (2-0) the German team at the European Championship semifinals in Poland and Ukraine and qualified for the final of the competition, in which will bettle against the trophy holder Spain.

Goals for the winners were scored by Balotelli in ’20 and ’36. Mesut Ozil scored for Germany in the 92th minute by a penalty kick.

Germany: Neuer – Boateng (Muller ’71), Hummels, Badstuber, Lahm – Khedira, Schweinsteiger – Kroos, Ozil, Podolski (Reus 46) – Gomez (Klose ’46). Coach: Joachim Löw.

Italy: Buffon – Balzaretti, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini – Pirlo – Marchisio, Montolivo (Motta ’63), De Rossi – Balotelli (Di Natale 70), Cassano (Diamanti ’58). Coach: Cesare Prandelli.
