Doping in the Tour de France stops the competition for one cycling star

PARIS |  Luxembourg’s Frank Schleck left the Tour de France following a doping control at which he was found positive, RadioShack team announced. Schleck, third in the 2011 edition of the Tour de France, was tested positive for a diuretic, which makes a risk for a penalty from a warning up to two years of suspension.

 

The 32 years old Luxembourg sportsman underwent a doping test on July 14, the day ranked 40th on stage 13 of the 2012 Tour. After 15 stages, Frank Schleck ranked 12th in the overall standings of the Tour de France, nine minutes and 45 seconds from the leader Bradley Wiggins.
