Ethics Committee at the University of Bucharest: Victor Ponta plagiarized his doctoral thesis

BUCHAREST | Ethics Committee of the University of Bucharest (UB) decided that Victor Ponta plagiarized in his doctoral thesis, one third of the work being copied, “by taking full text blocks, lines or blocks of text reversal against sources. The Commission expresses serious doubts on this occasion on the the quality of scientific coordination for the analysis”, reads the report of the Committee of Ethics.

One analysis report is called “Methods and types of plagiarism in the thesis of Mr. Victor Ponta”, and the second is an annex no. which lists two pages of the text sentence reproduced without citation of the four scientific source ” Thus, highlighted “many places where copied in the thesis and how they were copyed”, explaining that this copy was made ​​”by taking full blocks of text, lines, or blocks of text in reversal relation to the sources, but without footnotes by taking pieces of text, which shows that the author has seen at least how to quote correctly. ”
